I have been privileged to participate in.

Undergraduate Institute in Physics - Research Experience for Undergraduates (UnIPhy - REU) - Summer 2001

This program, which was funded by the National Science Foundation and hosted at Hampton University, exposed me the subject of physics, in particular elementary particle physics. My research pertained to Form Factors and Distribution Amplitudes for Positively Charged Pions, which won a first place presentation award at the National Technical Association Conference September 29, 2001 in Atlanta, GA and the first place at the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society Student Symposium November 10, 2001

Mable Eason Technology Outreach Center, Summer Computer Workshop 2000 Awards Ceremony Program

These three students served as trainers for the summer 2000 computer program sponsored by the ECSU-NRTS Program. This summer, the program was expanded to included the Effingham Street YMCA and New Bethel Baptist Church, both in Portsmouth, Virginia. During this summer, the camp participants also went to I.C. Norcom High School for internet exposure. Shown are: Ashley Hunter, Carl Seward, and Maria Phelps. It was a great summer.


1999 NASA High School Internship - Summer 1999

This was my very first internship. My job this summer was to develop and then implement a curriculum to teach children at the Effingham Street YMCA in Portsmouth, Virginia computer skills and applications. It was a great summer and a learning experience.
