Day two of the URE OMS/CI closing program included the CERSER Distinguished Lecture presented by Dr. Ali, Omar, a research scientist with the Chemistry and Dynamics Branch of the Atmospheric Sciences Competency at NASA Langley Research Center. Dr. Omar presented "Career Opportunities in the Geosciences" to the research students and guests. Dr. Omar's biography can be here.
Dr. Cynthia Warrick, Dean of the ECSU School of Mathematics, Science and Technology, welcomed attendees to the event. Also in attendance was Dr. Barry Rock of the University of New Hampshire, Mr.
Marlon Pierce of the Univeristy of Indiana, and Mr. Michael Rice of ECSU Sponsored Programs. A meeting of the Northeast North Carolina
GRSS Society Chapter was also held being led by Dr. Linda Hayden, the present Chapter Chair. A reception and research poster presentation followed the meeting.
