It
is not easy to accomplish life goals without encouragement and self
determination. As an African American woman I am determined to accomplish
all of my goals and aspirations. Hi, my name is TreAsia Fields, I
am a Sophomore Mathematics major and Secondary Education
minor at Elizabeth City State University located in Elizabeth City,
North Carolina. My goal is to become a mathematics educator and a certified
public accountant. I am aware that life has lots of stumbling blocks
that will appear, but I am determined
not to let them deter me from my goals. I have always had an interest in mathematics
and accounting throughout high school. I knew that is was the field
that I wanted to pursue so this lead me toward my major in college.
While I am at ECSU I plan to partake in many research projects in
internships that will benefit me in my career field as well as making
me a more educated and well rounded person. After receiving my baccalaureate
degree from the superior institution of higher education, Elizabeth
City State University, I will attend graduate school to pursue my
master's and then later pursue a Ph.D. degree. With my degrees I
would like to be an educator at an institution of higher learning.
In addition to being an instructor at a college or university, operating
my own accounting firm is also an endeavor of mines.
The goals and expectations that I have
for myself are extremely high, yet they are still accomplishable
in my eyes. These goals include graduating in May 2009 in the top percentage of my class, to get accepted
in a top institution for graduate studies, and to acquire all the
knowledge and skills necessary to be competitive in the work force.
