Statement of Purpose

My name is Kevin Reynolds. I am strong-willed, knowledgeable, and ready to learn. I believe in the importance of understanding one’s individual purpose. I believe that to go along with a purpose one should have a plan. To complement this plan, goals must be set. As a freshman my plan is to explore my chosen field of mathematics and to utilize the people and tools at my disposal to further narrow down my possible career choices. During my years here at ECSU it is my goal to maintain an “A” in all classes. I hope to become a leader on campus, and as a student represent the school well. My plan in this program is to take advantage of every opportunity that is afforded me and learn as much as possible during my matriculation here. Upon graduation I plan to attend The University of North Carolina at Charlotte to pursue an advanced degree in mathematics. Throughout high school I equally enjoyed every aspect of my academics, but I have always found math to come natural. Through exploring math, the analytical part of the brain is strengthened. Through research I have found that employers and companies hold problem solving skills in high regard. My long-term goals include getting a Ph.D., writing at least one book, teaching, owning my own business, and starting a family of my own. With success on my horizon I look forward to the next several years.
