Greetings, my name is Darius Walston. I am a native of Tarboro, North Carolina. I am currently persuing an Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Business and minor in Mass Communications. My studies here at Elizabeth City State University have allowed me to have access to various networking resources. With these resources in hand, I will be able to persue a career in the Computer Science field.

With the help of the Department of Career Services here at Elizabeth City State University I was introduced to the INROADS internship program.The INROADS internship program's mission is to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry and prepare them for coroprate and community leadership. Through INROADS I am able to participate in two summers of internship with one of their corporate sponsors. A few big name corporate sponsors of INROADS are IBM, Proctor and Gamble, Nortel Networks, and Anheuser-Busch Co. I was blessed to have one of INROADS new corporate sponsors RBC Centura. My internship with RBC Centura provided exposure to the hardware/network aspect of the world of computer science. I played a vital role in software management among RBC users and employees. My duties included desktop support for Centura's backoffice (customer service), machine rebuilds, server installs, maintaining check on server rooms, and setting up computer networks for major corportate conferences.
