Dana Brown, a native of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is a junior
mathematics major with a concentration in secondary education. Ms.
Brown's research experience includes assisting in the production of
an interactive CD-ROM highlighting mathematical principles and the
ecology of the Great Dismal Swamp, and water quality analysis of the
Great Dismal Swamp and nearby estuaries. Ms. Brown wants to earn a
masters in education and a Ph.D. in mathematics upon graduation. Her
professional goal is to become a university mathematics professor.
Carl
Seward, a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, is a junior mathematics
major with a minor in secondary education. Mr. Seward's research
experience includes assisting in the production of two educational
aids, a poster and an interactive CD-ROM, concerning mathematical
principles and the ecology of the Great Dismal Swamp. Additionally,
Carl has conducted award-winning research in theoretical and experimental
particle physics. Mr. Seward wants to earn a masters degree in mathematics
and a Ph.D. in mathematics education. He professional goal is to
become a university professor and administrator.
