Elizabeth City State University ONR research students attended the 2001 National Technical Conference on September 26-29, held in Atlanta, Georgia. Students attended workshops and made presentations of their 2001 summer internships.

Dr. Linda Hayden, Principal Investigator for the ONR Research Program, was awarded the Technical Achiever of The Year Award in the Educator Category. Her presentation was made by President Katherine Coleman and Mr. Rupert Graham, Jr. of the National Technical Association.

Carl Seward was recognized as having the first place entry for the student presentations. His presentation was entitled Form Factors and Distribution Amplitudes for Positively Charged Pions . His internship was served at Hampton University in the Undergraduate Institute in Physics (UniPhy – REU) Program under Dr. Claudia Rankins.
