Students participating in this year’s program participated in a comprehensive range of workshops. These classes were designed to expose them to the applications of mathematics in their lives. Workshops such as Air-Powered Rockets, Science of Flight, and Careers in STEM challenged the girls to widen their perspectives on math.

The ECSU faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, visiting teachers and professors, as well as NASA and the Virginia Air & Space Center provided hands on instruction and training for the students. Others presenting included: Mr. Orestes Gooden and Ms. Dominique Vaughan of the ECSU Aviation Department, Mrs. Dana Chandler and Ms. Dana Poole with ECSU Mathematics, and Steffi Walthall and Lilshay Rogers with CERSER.
