  Gain valuable, real-world experience in order to fulfill my goal of working at NASA as a planetary scientist with emphasis in aerospace biology and education.

  Trained to become an undergraduate research student and participated in boating skills training sessions, First Aid, Arc View, Arc Catalog, attended workshops presented by the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS), and focused on professional development skills to complete a research project based on ocean and marine science.  
     
  July 2005-present, Leadership and Mentorship Program (LAMP) Clerk UTB/TSC
  Office assistant, reserving facilities on campus for events, ordering and shopping for supplies, managing budget, managing a staff of 11 mentors, answering phones, making appointments, handle payroll, organizing events and meetings, and traveling arrangements  
     
  July 2005-present, Leadership and mentorship program UTB/TSC
  Student mentor for 7 freshman and transfer college students, conduct leadership workshops, representative at orientations and recruiting events  
     
  June 2005, South Texas Math and Science summer program instructor UTB/TSC
  Taught invertebrate class for high school students; students learned how to catch, mount and pin butterflies and record data from experiments  
     
  Summer 2004-present, South Texas Engineering Math and Science (STEMS) Program Mentor UTB/TSC
  Assisted sponsor, Javier Garcia, with trips and events related to science, math, and engineering. Trips included NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, several Texas state parks, National Parks, National wildlife areas and Rancho del Cielo Biosphere in Tamaulipas Mexico.

  Computer lab monitor, responsible for organizing and presenting social, intellectual, emotional, and physical programs, duty days that require facility monitoring within a 15 hour period from 5pm-8am, room inspections, side assignments, and an advisor/peer mentor to residents and visitors  
     
  Summer 2005, Orientation Presenter for “Campus Life and opportunities at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College” UTB/TSC
  Conducted and assisted with presentations for all incoming freshmen at orientations
