URE OMS Students at Naval Research Laboratory, Stennis Space Center

Danielle Graves and Erica Pinkney, URE OMS 2004 research students, are serving an internship at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi under Dr. Sonia Gallegos and Dr. Shobha Sriharan as part of their summer research.

Dr. Sonia Gallegos currently works in the Optics Branch of NRL where she develops models that integrate remote sensing measurements, in-situ data and products from dynamic models that allow the estimation of inherent optical properties from the surface to the bottom of the ocean.

Dr. Shobha Sriharan is a professor in the Department of Agriculture and Human Ecology at Virginia State University (VSU) in Petersburg, Virginia.
