Criteria
(For Oral Presentations and Posters)
1.
Background Information and Reason for Doing the Work
(10%)
At
the beginning of the presentation, briefly summarize
past research/work on the topic and explain its
relationship to the present study. References should
be relevant. Include a description of how, when,
and why the work was done.
Visual
aids for oral presentations may be slides, overhead
transparencies or Power Point presentations. For
posters, visual aids may consist of data tables,
graphs, and/or photographs. They will be judged
on quality and content.
3.
Material Methods (20%)
Present
precise, but concise descriptions of the procedures
used.
4.
Results and Discussion (25%)
Present
the Data in an orderly manner and discuss it concisely.
5.
Summary and Conclusions (15%)
Briefly
summarize the data presented and draw logical conclusions.
6.
Response to Questions (10%)
Answers
should convey the student's grasp of the subject
matter.
NOTE:
In addition to the above stated criteria, the presenter
will be judged on the quality of the oral presentation,
i.e. clarity of speech, organization of the narrative.
