Undergraduate Research Experience in Ocean, Marine, Polar Science (URE OMPS)
The URE OMPS program objective is to promote the professional development of minority undergraduate students through their participation in ocean, marine and polar science research. The program consists of undergraduates, each student assigned to a specific research team, where they will work closely with the faculty. 2011 URE OMPS Pasquotank River Watershed Water Quality Team
The 2011 UREOMPS Pasquotank River Watershed Team performed an assessment of the water quality in the watershed area. Assessments took place in several areas including the main channel of the river from Elizabeth City up to the Dismal Swamp Canal. The tributaries that were tested on the south side of the watershed were Newbegun Creek and Knobbs Creek.
