VASC Students experiment with wireless lighting at ECSU
Ellis Hatcher (center) of the Virginia Air & Space Center explains how a Tesla coil can wirelessly illuminate fluorescent lights as Elizabeth City middle school students attempt the feat. The students were guests at Elizabeth City State University during Research Week-- the week long series that included guest speakers, poster displays, seminars and oral presentations by students, staff and faculty and guests. ECSU faculty and staff welcomed approximately 370 students from eight middle schools and high schools in Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Washington counties.
