Jeff Wood was raised in Tennessee and left to serve in the Coast Guard at the age of 18. During his service he served in Cape May, NJ, Memphis, TN, Kodiak, AK, and Elizabeth City, NC. He was trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician and served as aircrew aboard the HC-130 Hercules as a radioman and navigator.

Upon retirement he took a job with the Office of Naval Research program at Elizabeth City State University under Dr. Linda Hayden. He completed his college degrees in Computer Information Science and Aviation Science graduating first in his class. He is currently employed under Dr. Hayden as an Education Program Manager developing print and digital graphical materials. He is also enrolled in the Applied Mathematics Master's program at ECSU with a concentration in Remote Sensing.

Jeff's passion is his family followed by utilizing his skills to help others succeed. Being self taught in many disciplines, he encourages others to step up and gain their knowledge through hard work and gaining the passion for what they do in life.
