I was raised in Tennessee and left to serve in the Coast Guard at the age of 18. During my service I served in Cape May, NJ, Memphis, TN, Kodiak, AK, and Elizabeth City, NC. I was trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician and served as aircrew aboard the HC-130 Hercules as a radioman and navigator.
I have completed undergraduate degrees in Computer Information Science and Aviation Science with a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics Master's with a concentration in Remote Sensing from Elizabeth City State University.
Upon retirement from the Coast Guard I joined the Undergraduate Research program at Elizabeth City State University under Dr. Linda Hayden. I have been employed here since 2001 as an Education Program Manager developing print and digital graphical materials as well as mentoring undergraduate research teams.
