Hello, my name is Anthony Meadows. I am currently a junior at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) with a major in Mathematics. Growing up, I used to bring homework home to my parents in order to show them how I had done. In in my mathematics, I seemed to struggle in certain areas, due the upper level learning I received at the private school I attended. Noticing this, my father made the bold statement "Son, math always makes sense." It was at the moment I began to look at the subject from a different perspective allowing me to excel at it from that point on.

During the summer of 2011, I came to Elizabeth City State University to participate in a program called the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program. This program not only introduced me to the college lifestyle, but it allowedme to gain first-hand experience in conducting research in the field of mathematics and science. The following two summers I acted as a meentor to those in the same program as well as those in the Viking Enhancement of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (VESTEM).

Now a junior, my advisor Dr. Kenneth Jones expressed his opinion Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) scholarship. He thought that I would be a good fit for it and was able to get me in contact with Dr. Linda Hayden. CERSER has skilled me with various abilities in the field of computer science and technology.

After college I will continue to do internships and partake in to graduate school. I will also continue to hone the skills that I was given in order to conduct further research and peruse a career path that best fits me.
