Abstract: Ethanol is a renewable resource that is abundant in everyday products, and is used as an alternative to burning gasoline. The objective of this experiment was to test and and see which mixture would produce the highest amount ethanol and which solution would be the purest in comparison to actual ethanol. The fructose, yeast, water and diosodium phosphate mixture produced the most ethanol with a volume of 38 milliliters. The yeast, sucrose, water, and diosoduim phosphate mixture resulted being the purest in form to ethanol. Ultimately, the goal will be to find ways to produce ethanol at a faster rate and at a more abundant quantity.
