Professional Statement

Greetings, my name is Ya’ Shonti Bridgers. I am a freshman Mathematics major and Education minor at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. I am originally from Windsor, North Carolina.

Throughout my life, I have had an interest in mathematics. I never knew that it was the field that I wanted to pursue, until a current mathematics teacher influenced and motivated me.So now I am on my way to getting a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. Hopefully, one day I can share my knowledge with other people, by becoming a great Teacher. Here at ECSU I am involved in the Center of Excellence for Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) program. While being in the CERSER program and a student here at ECSU I plan to participate in many research projects and internships that will benefit me in my career field, as well as making me a more educated and well rounded individual.
