Elizabeth City State University
ECSU is a Historically Black University (HBCU) located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER)
The intent of this project to develop an innovative and relevant research collaboration focused on coastal, ocean, and marine research.
NIA is the central starting point for several projects at Elizabeth City State University including: NASA, ONR, CERSER, NOAA, IEEE-GRSS, ECSU, CReSIS, and RS Explorers.
The Center of Remote Sensing for Ice Sheets (CReSIS)
CReSIS is a Science and Technology Center . Its mission is to develope new technologies and computer models to measure and predict the response of sea level change to the mass balance of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. CReSIS is partnered with six other universities; the University of Kansas, Elizabeth City State University, Haskell Indian Nations University, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Maine.
Polor Grid Team
Polar Grid is an National Science Foundation (NSF) Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) funded partnership of Indiana University and Elizabeth City State University. The partnership goal is to acquire and deploy the computing infrastructure needed to investigate the urgent problems in glacial melting.
Multimedia Research Team Automated Approach of Cataloguing TeraScan Images utilizing Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) Data Tasked with the responsibility of receiving remotely sensed Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) and Sea Wide Field-of-View Sensor (SeaWiFS) data for research projects year round. This data is collected, processed, annotated, and transformed into images in the Tagged Image File Format (tiff). These tiff images are then uploaded to the CERSER archive library.
