Greetings my name is Nadirah Cogbill. I am a graduate of Paul Robeson High School for Human Services in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and currently a freshman at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. At this present time I major in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and look forward to being a proud graduate in May of 2013.
My futuristic plans are to obtain my Masters and Doctoral Degree in Mathematics, along with a Masters in Computer Science. In the near future I looked to become a mathematician, however for now my plans are to become a secondary education teacher. A step that I have taken thus far in achieving my goals is being a participant in the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research Program (CERSER) here at Elizabeth City State University.
I have always had a passion for math and teaching and took on the great responsibility of taking on the Prospective Teacher Scholarship along with the Federal Teach Grant. These scholarships provide me with a job upon graduating from college, which states that I must teach in the state of North Carolina 4 years after graduating.
During my time here at Elizabeth City State University, I plan to make this institution “my place to succeed”. |
