ECSU (Elizabeth City State University) is an institution of higher learning. Located in Elizabeth City it is the center for the preceeding information. ECSU is a four year university that provides students with the talents they will need for the challenging world.

CERSER (The Center of Exellence in Remote Sensing Education Research) that is based at Elizabeth City State University. CERSER has the capibilities of communicating with space everyday. CERSER has several branched programs including Undergraduate Research Programs and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

CReSIS is a Science and Technology Center which was established by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2005. It's mission is to develope new technologies and computer models to measure and predict the response of sea level change to the mass balance of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica.

The central starting point for several projects at Elizabeth City State University including: NASA, ONR, CERSER, NOAA, IEEE-GRSS, ECSU, CReSIS, and RS Explorers.
