Currently, I am a Freshman Undergraduate Student at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City North Carolina. I am from Philadelphia Pennsylvania. My major is Computer Science with a minor in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing (GIS). It is my desire to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science followed by a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. Once this is complete, I will pursue a Ph. D in Computer Science. During my undergraduate career I plan to advance my education in the computer science field by taking part in internships as well as research projects. This semester in CERSER we had a lot of training. First, we learned how to use a digital camera, they wanted us to learn how to use the cameras so that when we on conferences and trips we would bring back good quality picture to put on the NIA web site. Also we had training in Abode Fireworks and Abode Dreamweaver were we constructed our web pages. We also had training in Linux and Teragrid we were leaning to use Ubuntu, and we learned about open source and open office. The last training we had for this semester is training in Satellite Imagery we learned about the weather how it is tracked and forecasted. This year I will be in Dr. Jinchun Yuan Oceanogarphy team, we will be conducting our research in Oceanography. Oceanography is the study of the Earths, oceans and seas. It covers a wide range of topics, including marine organisms and ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves and geophysical fluid dynamic; plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor. |
