Research
Undergraduate Research Experience in Ocean Marine Science (URE OMS)
The URE OMS program objective is to promote the professional development of minority undergraduate students through their participation in ocean, marine and space science research.
Sponsor's
Office of Naval Research (ONR)
The Office of Naval Research coordinates, executes, and promotes the science and technology programs of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through schools, universities, government laboratories, and nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) conducts research and gathers
data about the global oceans, atmosphere, space and sun, and applies this knowledge to
science and service that touch the lives of all Americans.
Center for Remote Sensing in Ice Sheets ( CReSiS)
The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) is a Science and Technology
Center established by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2005, with the mission of developing new technologies and computer models to measure and predict the response sea level change to the mass balance of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica.
National Science Foundation ( NSF)
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…" With an annual budget of about $5.92 billion, we are the funding source for approximately 20 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America's colleges and universities. In many fields such as mathematics, computer science and the social sciences, NSF is the major source of federal backing.

Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Reseaerch (CERSER)
The intent of this project to develop an innovative and relevant research collaboration focused on coastal, ocean, and marine research.
NIA
The ECSU NIA Webserver is the central point for the pages documenting the ONR, NASA, and NOAA activities along with the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Reseaerch (CERSER) and the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the IEEE-GRSS chapter. These programs have been implemented and supervised by Dr. Linda Hayden of the ECSU Math & Computer Science Department.
