My name is Jasmin Rivers and I am a first year student at Elizabeth City State University, which is located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. I am currently working towards recieving a Bachelor Science degree in Computer Science .As a high school Sophmore I was introduced into the field of computers by becoming a participant in a class that was given four days a week. Entering into the class, I just knew that I would have fun because I worked with computers on a daily basis, but I was absolutely wrong. The class was not designed to learn new games or to even surf the internet, it was in fact designed to understand how a computer works. My understanding of the information given baffled me for the first few weeks, however I found that the more time I spent trying to apply the information the more I had grown to comprehend and like computers. My interest in how computers work rapidly grew to wanting to know what other possible outlets there are to explore, leading me into a career in Computer Science.

As I enter the wonderful and exciting world of Computer Science, I know that there will be many obstacles that I will face on my journey. My dedication and determination to succeed is what will guide me in overcoming those obstacles and continuing on with my dream of becoming a Computer Scientist
