Professional Statement

Hi, my name is Brittney L. Lynch and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education here at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU).

I chose to come to Elizabeth City State University because it is a small campus and there are small classes so that the students have the chance to have one on one time with the professor. I also came to because it is close to home, they have wonderful professors, and this schools provides you with different opportunities and a great education. I would have never thought about being in the Undergraduate Research Experience program with Dr. Hayden if it was not for Dr. Malcolm LeCompte. He assisted me with an application for the program. I was excited that I received the scholarship because this is a great opportunity for me to learn more about my field of work and have the chance to go to new places and meet new people. This program also takes you places you only dream about. You have trips to different conferences to listen and meet different speakers.

My goals are to graduated with a GPA over a 3.0; continue my education by going to a great institution, and achieve my goal as a math educator.
