I
am Danielle N. Wright,
an independent woman that
society has helped mold
into a successful person.
I am a first year student
here at Elizabeth City State University with
mathematics as my major
and a minor in education.
After graduating from high
school I knew that I would
most definitely be attending
college. I
just did not know which
one it would be, finally
I heard about Elizabeth City State University and
fell in love with the campus
and the administrators
that helped me make my
final decision. After
graduating from this University
I plan to go to graduate
school and get a masters
degree in mathematics,
which will open the door
to many other career opportunities,
specifically National Security
Agency (NSA) or mathematics
education.
My
love for math has always
been keen as far as the
subject being exact and
how it affects everyday
life. I began to think
about what I wanted to
do with mathematics and
education came to mind.
As a mathematics teacher
I would be able to express
my love for the subject
and expose others to the
ability they themselves
have. One thing I have
learned from living in
today’s society is
that professors or educators
themselves have a lot of
influence on the youth
of today and how they can
be molded into better people.
As far as teaching is concerned,
the goal I have set for
myself is to make mathematics
fun and allow students
to have an interactive
role in the classroom.
Although I have set goals to accomplish they are not to hard. My most recent goal is to graduate Summa Cum Laude in May of 2009 and to go on and further my education. My future goal to accomplish is to become an exceptional mathematics teacher and later become a loving wife and mother. |
