	Common Core State Standards Initiative http://www.corestandards.org/ The Common Core is a set of high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA). These learning goals outline what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. The standards were created to ensure that all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live. Forty-two states, the District of Columbia, four territories, and the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) have voluntarily adopted and are moving forward with the Common Core.

	Research Experience for Undergraduates in Ocean, Marine, and Polar Science http://nia.ecsu.edu/reuomps2016/index.html The REU OMPS program objective is to promote the professional development of minority undergraduate students through their participation in ocean, marine and polar science research. The program consists of undergraduates, each student assigned to a specific research team, where they will work closely with the faculty. In addition, seminars, lunch meetings, and social functions are organized to facilitate undergraduate interaction.
	Elizabeth City State University http://www.ecsu.edu/ Home of the Mighty Vikings! Elizabeth City State University is a Historically Black College and University, located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
	Pathaways in Mathematics Education and Remote Sensing http://nia.ecsu.edu/pimers/ Pathways in Mathematics Education and Remote Sensing (PiMERS) represents a joint effort between Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) and NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). In addition The Association of Computer and Information Science/Engineering Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) representing 54 MSIs will support this contribution to the NASA national efforts for achieving excellence in STEM education. PiMERS is a two-year project, which contributes to the effective implementation of NASA’s educational goals and objectives using NASA’s unique assets and capabilities in Mathematics Education and Remote Sensing. In addition PiMERS will provide the opportunity to include the areas of computational chemistry and aviation, through the PiMERS Advisory Board, future strategy sessions and NASA LaRC research seminars.
	Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) http://cerser.ecsu.edu/ The goal of CERSER is to develop and implement innovative and relevant research collaboration focused on ice sheet, coastal, ocean, and marine research.

	The Association of Computer/Information Sciences and Engineering Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) https://www.admiusa.org/ The Association of Computer/Information Sciences and Engineering Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) was founded in August 1989. It was established as a national organization dedicated to exploring and providing remedies to the educational issues in computer/information science and computer engineering that confront minority institutions of higher education.
