SPCG The Fifth Biennial Awards Banquet organized by the Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracts & Grants was held on March 9th, 2004 for the Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) faculty and staff.

The bi-annual event spotlights outstanding efforts by the faculty to bring grants and sponsorships to the university. The awards banquet is held every two years to give new and developing grant writers an opportunity to hone their grant writing skills and to become eligible for next awards banquet in 2006.

The awards banquet was preceded by a two-day grant writing workshop on March 8-9 at the K. E. White Graduate Center. The Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracts, and Grants at Elizabeth City State University presented the workshop entitled "Developing Winning Proposals". Participants benefiting from the workshop included institutions, non-profit agency representatives, public and private school administrators, business and church representatives.Workshop participants learned to develop their ideas and revise concept papers, write for reviewers, apply the ABC's of grant writing, attended breakout sessions with accomplished grant writers, and identified funding sources. Photos from the grant writing workshop can be found here.
