The luncheon started at 11:30am and ended at 1:00pm. The keynote speaker was Mr. Gerald Reed, President of Blacks in Government. He was also named the Charles S. Duke Distinguished Lecturer. Mr. Reed is a very eloquent speaker and he had everyone's attention at the luncheon that evening. He spoke about how Blacks can make the difference especially in education.

NTA Auxiliary Luncheon, Friday, September 27
The final luncheon was held on Friday afternoon. The keynote speaker was Mr. Fred Gregory, Deputy Administrator, NASA, and he is also an astronaut. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy in 1964 and a Master's Degree in Information Systems from George Washington University in 1977. He is also a test pilot, since he graduated from the Navy test pilot school in 1971. He spoke to us on how he achieved his successes. He feels that he owes his successes to legacy and pioneers, those who paved the way for him and passed the torch to him. He says he is now waiting to pass the torch to someone else. He also owes his success to heritage, his parents, who he believes made sure he had everything he needed for success. They gave him support and barriers to work in.
