The
purpose of the conference was to give prospective African-American
graduate students an opportunity to visit Georgia Tech and Atlanta,
receive an overview of graduate degree programs, and participate in
the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration. The conference theme
was A reflection of the past, a perception of the present, a vision
for the future. |

| Some
of the helpful pieces of advice that the graduate students offered
were, to out and finding what types of research are going on at the
graduate school you would like to apply to. Do research on the types
of qualities most of the students at that graduate school posses and
see how many of them you have. Most of all don't let the competition
intimidate you. |
