Students participating in this year’s program participated in a comprehensive range of workshops. These classes were designed to expose them to the applications of mathematics in their lives. Workshops such as Forensic Investigations, Webpage Design Careers, Who Wants to be a Human Fax Machine?, and the Aviation/Interactive Lab/STEM Mobile Lab challenged the girls to see matheatics from a new perspective.
The ECSU faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, visiting teachers and professors, as well as the Coastal Studies Institute provided hands on instruction and training for the students. David Sybert, Kirsten Morse, Claire Johnson, and Cat Bower traveled from the the Coastal Studies Institute in Wanchese, NC to present workshops on the Gulf Stream and Coastal Resilience. |
