Opening
The opening of the Celebration of Women in Mathematics 2002 was
an exciting one as speakers from various colleges and professions
let the students know just what math meant to them. Dr. Carolyn
Mahoney, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at ECSU, opened the
meeting followed by various speakers and a panel of professional
women from NOAA. Dr. Margery Coulson-Clark moderated as the panel
spoke on their education and their current jobs within NOAA. The
students from each school then delivered their best "I Love
Math!" cheers to the audience.
