Welcome to IEEE at Elizabeth City State University
The student chapter of IEEE-GRSS has had a rebirth here at Elizabeth City ECSU. Since Feb 12, 2008 Cecelia Jankowski approved our petition to reactivate our Student Branch at ECSU located in Region 1, we have grown to 24 members that are well-rounded dedicated Researchers. Our chapter plans are to partner with the Technology club on campus to collaboratively compose projects and further enhance the undergraduate college experience. Mostly to give awareness to Technology innovation in the last decades specifically in the Remote Sensing and computer information fields of study. Our main goal is to inform undergraduate students how their major of study is related to Global Information Systems (G.I.S.) and Stem fields. We also have visitors to come and present their professional research or projects from various positions in the scientific realm. for example Mr. Michael Rice, SAFRA Coordinator, ECSU Office of Sponsored Programs: “NC Space Grant Opportunities & “MAVEN” A New Satellite Mission to Mars.” presented by Mr. Michael Rice is an example of the prestigious lectures we plan on exposing university students to at our GRSS meetings here at ECSU.
