My name is Lucas Moxey, and I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I attended Lincoln University College-Lynn University (Buenos Aires, Arg.), the University of Oregon and the University of Florida. I graduated from UF in December 2001 with two degrees: B.A. Business Administration and B.S. Geological Sciences. My specialization areas within Geology include Geochemistry, Volcanology, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

During the Summer 2002, I participated at the Undergraduate Research Experience in Marine and Ocean Science at Elizabeth City State University. This program, funded by NASA, NOAA and the Office of Naval Reserach (ONR), is intended to allow students to conduct, among other activities, remote sensing research applied to the marine and ocean sciences.

As part of this research experience, students are introduce to JavaScript and HTML. In addition, other programming computer software was used for research purposes. The remote sensing work involved the use of satellite derived data, including Level 1b AVHRR imagery, TOPEX/Poseidon, MODIS and SeaWiFS.
