Morehead Planetarium and Science Center ECSU CERSER NIA
On January 21-22, 2017, three representatives from Elizabeth City State University attended a training session held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. Jessica Hathaway, Anissa Norman, and Joselyn Hathaway attended the Inspiring Meaningful Programs and Communication Through Science (IMPACTS) program, a science and education based program that involves getting younger students involved in hands-on activities. The session, led by Tamara Poles, was a two day training event filled with hands on activities, team building, problem solving, and critical thinking. The activities that were explored can be implemented in classrooms and outreach events.
