The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) was held in Washington, DC on October 29-31, 2015. The conference was aimed at inspiring and training those individuals pursuing an education or a career in the STEM fields. Dr. Linda Hayden, Director of the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), along with ECSU graduate student Andrew Brumfield attended the conference.

Also attending the conference were Maeah Walthall from George Mason University and Charlie Nelson from Kentucky State University, past researchers at ECSU.
