On Thursday, November 10, 2011, Gloria J. Brown-Simmons, an artist and aesthetic engineer, presented "Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE)" as part of the NASA Innovations in Climate Education program (NICE) at Elizabeth City State University. This Distinguished Lecture was held in the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) lab in Dixon/Patterson Hall. Students from the CERSER program and other STEM programs, along with NICE workshop participants were given an overview of the GLOBE program along with visualizations that the presenter had participated in. Dr. Linda Hayden, Principal Investigator for the NICE program welcomed the guests and Mrs. Wanda Hathaway introduced the speaker.
