Geophysicists from around the world gathered in San Francisco from December 14–18, 2010 to attend the American Geophysical Union's (AGU) Fall Meeting . This meeting provided an opportunity for researchers, teachers, students, and consultants to present and review the issues affecting the Earth, the planets, and their environments in space. This meeting covered topics in all areas of geophysical sciences. The attendees took part in sessions, special lectures, and section and focus group events.

Representatives from Elizabeth City State University presented research in the poster sessions and met with other researchers attending the event. Those from ECSU included Dr. Malcolm LeCompte, Dr. Benjamin Branch, MyAsia Reid, and LaEsha Barnes.
