On December 3, 2009, representatives from Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) and The University of New Hampshire (UNH) met with staff from the National Science Foundation in a Partnership Strategy Session. ECSU and UNH established a partnership in the beginning of 2005 to increase cooperation in research, education, and outreach scholarship between the two universities. This relationship has evolved into various ongoing projects including the Watershed Watch Program, Inspiring the Next Generation of Earth Explorers, and Transforming Earth Systems Science Education among others.
