Graduate Experiences - Graduate school has helped me to explore my potential and has challenged me to do things I once thought were impossible for me. Who would have thought that one day I would use quantum field theory? Prior to test there are many long nights of arduous study which seem to pay of during test time. I'm assuming I have liberty to be a little humorous. I'm at the Center for Atmospheric Sciences of Hampton University Physics Ph.D program. I've yet to write a proposal for my dissertation so there is no title. I am now working for my advisor, Dr. James Russell III, at NASA Langley Research Center. He is PI for the HALogen Occultation Experiment (HALOE) which is an instrument aboard UARS (Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite) that measures species pertinent to ozone lifecycle such as O3, NO2, HF, HCl, CH4, NO, H2O..... I'm validating HALOE ozone (O3) and methane (CH4) measurements for the upper troposphere and stratosphere. So in short, I'm doing data validation of the HALOE Methane and Ozone measurements from UARS.
