Je'aime H. Powell has over 17 years in both computer research, and computer repair. His experiences began in the ASSERT program (which was later renamed the Undergraduate Research Experience) as a member of the Parallel Programming team. In later years Je'aime also worked on the Virtual Reality team, NMRI team , and the Multimedia team. The highlight of his research experience was his work on an Egyptian Physics package which was an interactive classroom-based training software package designed to be utilized at the University of Cairo. Currently Je'aime's research has him focused on the GRID project which is a distributed computing method for the processing of large data packets.
Professionally Je'aime began working at small computer repair companies, designing, installing, and maintaining client personal computers and networks. His work allowed him the opportunity to repair Windows-based, Macintosh-based, Linux-based, and UNIX-based workstations in a variety of network topologies. Along with managing three satellite locations Je'aime was also the lead programmer for a subsidiary web design studio for his company. Recent Je'aime has been working for Canon Information Technology as a Technical Training Specialist in which he is the lead trainer for Small Office/Home Office products, Image Support Group products, Network products, and Macintosh products.
During Je'aime's educational career his has earned his Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from Elizabeth City State University, and is currently working on his Master's of Science in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Remote Sensing. He has also gained multiple professional certifications in Criterion Referenced Instruction, Windows Administration, Flash Certification, First Responder Certification, 15+ product specific Canon certifications, and numerous other awards, and accommodations.
