Willie Brown
Personal Statement
Hello my name is Willie L. Brown, Jr. and I grew up in Pleasant Hill, North Carolina with two sisters and no brothers. I am the youngest of my siblings and enjoy working with computers. I attended Northampton County High School-West in Gaston, North Carolina for three years and relocated the last year to Southeast Halifax High School in Halifax, North Carolina. I am now current at Elizabeth City State University and a freshman computer science major with a minor in airway.
The time I spend in high school, I have participated in many different research projects that has contributed to my ambition in life. During the Summer of 2001, I attended a Math and Science Camp at A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina for eight weeks. In 1991 I attended a Math and Science Camp at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, North Carolina for six-weeks. Both camps were very enlightening and broadened my horizon. I have volunteered with a relative, with I help to install computers in private homes. In the fifth grade I attended a week long Math and Science Camp at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
My extracurricular activities consist of the following: Beta Club Member, Marching and Concert Bands member at Northampton County High School-West for the past eight years. Presently, I am the Minister of music at Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Jackson, North Carolina and I play for the following choirs at the Church: The Gospel Choir, Senior Choir, Male Choir, Inspirational Voices of Praise, The Youth Choir and the Roanoke Chapel Mass Choir. I also find time to visit neighboring Churches and minister music to them. As a community service, I have ministered music to the following Nursing and Rest Homes: Guardian Care Nursing Home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Hampton Wood Rest Home in Jackson, North Carolina and Carolina Rest Home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. I am also a member of the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church Project Youth Program.
As a freshman student a Elizabeth City State University, I am devoting myself in staying focus and work hard. This will get me far in life.
