Data science is a fascinating field and studying it theoretically is quite interesting already, however, applying the theoretical knowledge to real data and research problems is a completely different experience. I am working on integrating the Data Discovery Studio (DDStudio) gateway to geoscience data and analysis tools, with SuAVE – a related gateway for visual exploration of data and image collections. They are connected using Jupyter notebooks, to allow the user to work with different data analysis tools depending on the type of discovered datasets, and transform the datasets found in DDStudio into SuAVE online applications for visual analytics and machine learning.
