Kyanie Waters ::
Mississippi Valley State University :: Professional Statement |
My name is Kyanie Waters, I am currently attending Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) in Itta Bena, Mississippi as a sophomore with a major in computer science. In the beginning, I was open to many options as I started to decide what I wanted to major in when I would attend college. It was my senior year when I started having a passion for computers and the way they worked. I mostly wanted to help others in any way possible and when I found out that computers were a big factor to human lives I began to partake in the interest of computers and the field of computer science.
My dad was a great influence on the individual i am today and urged me to get in this field by demonstrating to me generally accepted methods to help other people. I generally enjoyed assembling things and taking care of issues; math was likewise one of my most loved subjects growing up. The prospect of helping other people for whatever is left of my life was my objective, and in the long run I simply needed to discover what way I could do that. I started to explore about various professions I may be occupied with and software engineering was a field that fit my criteria. As I started my first year at MVSU I was chosen to go on two outings to conference’s in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Virginia Beach, Virginia. At these conferences, I figured out how to exhibit notices and talk before judges, and about python programming. These meetings truly opened my eyes to demonstrate to me that I would be achieving my objective.
As a first-year student, I took in the essential learning material for C++ Programming at MVSU. I likewise am a member of our area of expertise club called the Mathematics Computer Information Sciences (MCIS) program and the Women in Science and Technology (WIST) program at MVSU. Additionally, I have learned python at Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI), a coding internship. While going to my internship I will be attending a Practice and Experience in Advance Research Computing (PEARC) Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.
While continuing my studies I would like to gain my Master’s Degree in Computer Science and my doctorate degree also. I also plan on adding as many programming languages as possible to my toolkit in order to give me more usefulness in the positions that i fill in the future. During my course of studies I would like to urge others to follow their dreams and put their mind to anything that they wish to do. |
