| Lunch Seminar - Dr. Darnell Johnson - GLOBE Research - (Presentation) |
| Dr. Darnell Johnson presented a student research project based on the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program, a K-12 environmental education program supported by NASA, NOAA, and NSF. During a two-week period, students and teachers learned basic GLOBE protocols and formed questions concerning each of the assigned GLOBE topics. The participants learned about remote sensing and worked with images utilizing image processing software, and were introduced to the study of GLOBE Protocols as applied in Northeastern North Carolina. The 2017 PiMERS team at ECSU established three environmental sites on the campus of ECSU to conduct investigations for the GLOBE protocols: clouds, air temperature, and surface temperature. |
