The
15th Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals was held
at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Elizabeth City State University research students attended the first
days activities which included poster presentation, guided tours,
and sessions on issues pertaining to marine mammal research.
The
conference was sponsored by the Society for Marine Mammalogy. The
society was founded at San Francisco, California, U.S.A., on December
15, 1981 and its objectives are to:

Evaluate and promote the educational, scientific and managerial
advancement of marine mammal science.
- Gather
and disseminate to members of the Society, the public and public
and private institutions, scientific, technical and management
information through publications and meetings.

Provide scientific information, as required, on matters related
to the conservation and management of marine mammal resources.
