2. TCP/IP software
There are many types of public domain TCP/IP software. They are b basically categorized into two types:
-> NCSA (National Center of Supercomputing Applications) Telnet family: NCSA Telnet V2.3 for PCs and NCSA Telnet V2.6 for MACs
-> Serial communications software, which is able to send TCP/IP packets over relatively low speed dialup telephone lines. This software communicates using PPP (Point to Point Protocol) or SLIP (Serial Line IP).
ftp for transferring files (NCSA)
We have also added the following utilities:
lpr for printing on a remote print server (Paul Hilchey, copyright U. British Columbia)
popmail for sending/receiving Internet mail (boombox.micro.umn.edu, U. Minnesota)
