    GOAL OF THE WORKSHOP
    In an effort to stimulate interest and participation in NASA research and curriculum, the workshop will feature NASA and university speakers, who will expose faculty members of institutions of higher learning and K-12 schools to funding opportunities; education programs; space and earth science products and programs; and space science research. Who should attend: Education Administrators, faculty, and students who are interested in getting involved with NASA. The following topics will be covered:

    Funding Opportunities: On Tuesday, Mr. John Malone, IRA (NRTS) Program Manager, a division of the Minority University Research and Education Division (MURED), from NASA Headquarters, will talk about funding opportunities for faculty members at HBCUs, including both curriculum programs and research funding.

    Education Programs: On Wednesday, Dr. Leo Edwards, Director of the Mathematics/Science Education Center at Fayetteville State University, will talk about NASA's NOVA program for curriculum enhancement in science, math and engineering courses taken by education majors.

    Space & Earth Science Products & Programs: On Tuesday, Ms. Carolyn Ng and Dr. Therese Kucera from the Office of Space Science will be presenting (OSS) and on Wednesday, Mr. Steven Graham from the Earth Science Enterprise (ESE). The sessions will cover curriculum products and resources available for a wide variety of courses.

    Space Science Research: On Wednesday, Dr. Mitchell Colgan, Director of the South Carolina Space Grant Consortium from the College of Charleston, along with rearchers from Goddard Space Flight Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, the Space Telescope Science Institute and University of Tennessee at Knoxville, will discuss the future NASA's Space Science research programs.
