PHILOSOPHY

The faculty and staff of I. C. Norcom High School believe that students can learn and have the capacity to succeed. Therefore, the student is the focal point of the school's program. Every aspect of the program at Norcom is designed to ensure that every child receives the highest quality education commensurate with his or her needs and abilities. Realizing that every child is different, the faculty strives to expand its program and to provide a curriculum that is rigorous and enriching enough to challenge the rich diversity of individual student ability. In addition, the faculty actively engages the student by employing a variety of teaching styles to improve student comprehension of ideas and values. Top priority is placed on providing increased and improved instruction so that conceptual abilities can be taught in conjunction with skills and facts.
