Hired by Portsmouth City Schools to teach first and second grades. Currently teaching at Emily Spong Elementary School. Implement curriculum and state-wide objectives into my classroom. Subjects include science, social studies, math, language arts, reading and spelling. Duties include Classroom teacher, Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator, and Computer/Internet Liaison.

Teacher, W.W. Houston Memorial Boys & Girls Club

Hired by the Boys & Girls Club of South Hampton Roads to head the Discovery Center at the Houston Club. Created and implemented a unified year-long curriculum designed to enrich reading and math skills, foster self-esteem, and educate children about contemporary issues such as drug awareness and AIDS prevention. Also proposed and instituted a tutoring program designed to help children with reading problems. Trained a volunteer corps of education majors from Virginia Wesleyan College to work with the children and give weekly reports on their progress.
