SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe that education is primarily and ultimately concerned with changes in behavior of pupils in desirable ways.

We believe that each child can learn, and that each child learns best when allowed to progress at his/her own rate and style of learning.

We recognize the importance of the combined efforts of home, school, and community working cooperatively to ensure an outstanding educational program.

We believe in children and their importance now and in the future. It shall therefore be our purpose to help each child:

Develop basic skills in all curriculum areas.

Develop an appreciation for the "arts."

Develop and maintain good mental and physical health.

Develop critical thinking skills.

Develop positive attitudes and values.

Develop self understanding and self-esteem.

Develop the ability to express thoughts orally and in writing.

Develop skills needed to participate in American democracy.
